TAAHC Medical Research Symposium
The first TAAHC Research Symposium was held on the 1st June 2019 on the James Cook University Townsville campus and broadcast across northern Queensland via videoconference.
Over 60 people from across northern Queensland joined the Symposium in person or via videoconference for a discussion of excellent clinical research and science occurring across TAAHC. Key focus areas included chronic and infectious disease and platforms to support research across TAAHC. Attendees heard from a variety of speakers across the region, including Professor Damon Eisen, Director of Clinical Research, Townsville Hospital and Health Service, Dr Edward Strivens, A/Research Director and Clinical Director, Older Persons Health Services, Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and Dr Janath de Silva, Mackay Hospital and Health Service.
The forum was an excellent opportunity for clinicians and researchers to present their work and to learn more about clinical research in the region. We look forward to more opportunities to bring clinicians and researchers together across TAAHC.
